Cremation

Cremation can be performed with or without a funeral service. In this form of funeral, the deceased is cremated in a casket at a crematorium. The remaining ashes are stored in an urn and then handed over to a chosen cemetery for burial. The choices of burial sites range from an urn burial site, family grave site, mausoleum or a nitch.

In Florida a person can pre-arrange for and sign their own Authorizations for Cremation at the time of pre-arrangements.

Note: Cremation is only possible if the deceased gave written consent to cremation while he or she was still alive. If the deceased has not left a will indicating the type of funeral desired, a cremation can also be arranged by the next of kin.

There are three choices to be made with cremation. There is what is called a traditional cremation. That is where the deceased is embalmed and a full traditional service is held followed by cremation. Another is cremation with a memorial services is held with or without the ashes present. With a memorial services mementos can be displayed , and a service is held.  And the direct cremation where cremation takes place and no services are held. The choice is what will help the family wishes to have in a way remembering the deceased.
